POEA CANCELLED RECRUITMENT AGENCY LICENSED ONCE PROVEN COLLECTING PLACEMENT FEES

THE Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has cancelled the license of a recruitment agency for collecting placement fee to a Household Service Workers (HSWs) in Singapore.

POEA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac said the license of SML Human Resources has been invalided for collecting fees thru salary deduction.

"Kanselado po ng POEA ang lisensiya ng SML Human Resources, dahil sa pananaga ng placement fees thru salary deduction sa isang kasambahay sa Singapore," Cacdac said in a Facebook post.

Based on the complaint of the OFWs, who Cacdac did not identify, the company informed her about the eight months salary deduction upon her employment to Singapore.

Under POEA rules, cancellation of POEA license will be the sanction for collecting placement fee from OFWs.
