The first experience I vividly remember was when I was about 10 years old. My older brother told me that he heard footsteps the previous night, So of course didn't believe him at all and the next night as I fell asleep I woke up to a loud bang and footsteps running down the hall. Of course this being the first time ever since I was little experiencing this I was terrified.
Over the years this carried on a lot more. It was also increasing. I heard many things over the past years such as Footsteps, Whispers, in the kitchen I heard glass breaking and pots and pans banging, Doors swinging open, not feeling alone and Knocks. No one believed me until my mum and My little sister has had their fair share of this.
It stopped for a while, until a couple of nights ago when my older brother heard the bathroom door banging and noises, such as stuff falling of the shelves but he went in there and nothing was different. He finally believes me! I just have a question that I can't figure out.
Perhaps it's you hearing these things simply because you're more aware of them. I mean listening to things go bump so frequently as you've described would heighten your awareness of it potentially happening again. The rest of your family may have been just as exposed to it as you have, but didn't pay as much attention, or thought it was someone else.
Especially when someone doesn't believe in anything paranormal, the possibility is rejected completely when faced with something inexplicable. But it doesn't mean that person isn't just as exposed as anyone else. It's just their perspective is different.
Are these noises causing you concern at all? If they are, you don't have to put up with it. A cleansing/shielding of your home will calm the activity down. If this interests you I'll copy paste our Rook's tried and tested method from his profile.
